Seeking Better Solutions to Lifes Everyday Challenges

WebMD through Fox News had an article about five of the most recent birth control options to come out. You may read the article here. Our society really does treat fertility as a disease. Women submit to taking birth control because most think it is the only way to prevent pregnancy. Many doctors even tell you that if you are not taking the pill then you are trying to get pregnant. How short sighted on their part.

Fertility Awareness arms the woman(and if in a good relationship, the man) with the knowledge of what is happening with her body, and when there is the possibility of pregnancy. A woman is only fertile herself for about 24 hours after ovulation(48 if a second egg is released). The man is always fertile. Her body creates cervical fluid before ovulation to help the man’s sperm survive, but it is his fertility that runs the risk of pregnancy at that time. This being the case it seems unfair to make a woman deal with the side effects of birth control for 24 hours of being fertile. Fertility Awareness teaches you how to look for signs of fertility. Then you can either avoid unprotected sex during these times to prevent pregnancy, or aim for sex during these times to become pregnant. Because you are looking for signs of fertility it does not matter how regular your cycle is. It is different from the rhythm method.

Fertility is not a disease. Why constantly be drugging the body for it?

This is the best book that I have found. It is very complete, and after reading it you will wonder why they never bothered to include it in health class.

I wonder how many women who were never fertile in the first place have taken or will take the morning after pill.
